Mizpah Cottage - Bohortha

Mizpah Cottage

Where the road runs out in Bohortha you will find a cluster of cottages and a couple of farms. Mizpah is a charming fisherman’s cottage, at the end of a row of four, double fronted with white rendered front elevations.

There is little to intrude on this unspoilt area with no crowds and very little traffic. Bohortha is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a spectacular coastline and numerous beaches. From Mizpah you can walk to St Anthony’s Head with its famous lighthouse or down to Porthbeor beach (5 mins). Alternatively follow the footpath to Place Quay (10 mins) where the ferryman will take you across to St Mawes (summer only). Portscatho, 2.5 miles away, is a pretty village with good local shops and two pubs.

Ground Floor
Downstairs the cottage has a sitting room with television and open log fire. The dining room has both the original flagstone floor and cast iron and brass range including bread oven (not in use!). There is an oak refectory table with six chairs and a sideboard.

Behind the dining room is a cottage kitchen with a small table. The kitchen is well equipped with a double electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Outside the kitchen there is an outhouse converted to house a shower, second loo and basin.

First Floor
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. There are two front bedrooms. One with a 5’double sleigh bed and the other with two single sleigh beds. These rooms have wonderful country views, with the sea in the distance. The third bedroom is a small box room with bunk beds at the back without a view. There is a travel cot available. Duvets, pillows and all bed linen and towels are provided. There are electric blankets for winter use.

The bathroom has a bath, basin and loo and an electric towel rail.
The heating in the cottage consists of off-peak electric heaters. There is an efficient immersion heater for the water.
There is a telephone available for emergency use and to receive calls. Guests are asked to bring a pre-paid charge card, available from newsagents or garages, in order to make outgoing calls.

Outside the front of the cottage there is an enclosed garden perfect for families to enjoy. There is a further grassy garden beyond. Teak garden table, chairs and parasol plus a BBQ are provided.
