Also in St Mawes, the Rising Sun is larger with a outside seating area of greater capacity. Positioned right in the centre of the village, it is just a stones throw from the beach and village quay.
As of 2022 the 'St Austell Brewery' owned pub is going through some problems, seemingly understaffed due to perhaps a stretched brewery ownership, and not able to offer food in the evenings. One wonders if such issues would be so problematic if it were a freehouse owned by an entity that could dedicate 100% to its future.
