St Mawes Social Club

The Bohella Bar

**NOTE: The St Mawes Social Club was re-branded to 'The Bohella Bar' in 2010**

Welcome to the St Mawes Billiards & Social Club web page. Found in the center of St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula the club is a hotspot for local events, parties, weddings, discos - and more somber occasions. You wont find a better atmosphere on the Roseland than in the club on a Saturday night. Big screen TV's, Barbeque's, Pool tables, Snooker tables, Great beer and loads of laughter, its all here in the St Mawes Social Club! Why not pay a visit!

What has the St Mawes Social club got to offer? First and foremost, a great bar with offerings from the local Cornish breweries including award winning ales like Betty Stoggs, Doom Bar, as well as popular national beers and lagers - Tetley's, Carlsberg {green}, Guinness. There are always guest beers on hand to keep things varied. The prices are extremely reasonable and is one of the cheapest places to drink on the Roseland. Remember though, a full membership or temporary membership is needed to enjoy our facilities and cracking atmosphere.

Top chefs are on tap to help with our cutting edge barbeque's and are a regular feature in the summer months. To help mop up the beer after a working boat race day, regatta day, or just a summers day, we often hold barbeques out on the terrace with the usual hot dogs, burgers, lobsters...

There were some recent changes in the Social Club which meant losing one of our full size snooker tables, however the remaining table is now in a far more comfortable room just next to the main bar offering a bit more peace and quiet for those serious Steve Davis moments. Booking is not usually needed.

Disco Divas! The legendary Social Club discos occur quite often, particularly in the summer months and are normally coupled with a later bar license. The club is also tucked in a small valley which helps keep the noise down for the nearby houses and residents. The club also gets frequented by the occasional band or group or solo act.

EXCELLENT BEER'S Award winning Cornish ales from breweries such as Skinners and St Austell Brewery

TOP NOTCH BBQ's Using fine volunteer Chefs from the village - or whoever's propping up the bar, we are able to put on regular bbqs for race and event days.

FULL SIZE SNOOKER TABLE The only one in the village, it has recently been moved into a more comfortable room just next to the bar.

BLISTERING DISCOS No one can sneer at our fantastic disco's that are put on at the club, a great opportunity for everyone to let their hair down, they're often put on after a race day or other event.

GALATIC SIZED TV's If your keen on your sport then the club is THE place to watch an event on either terrestrial or Sky television on one of three large tv's, coupled with a burger, beer......

TERRACED AREA For those that are not convinced smoking is bad for health, the club has a handy terraced area for some comfortable smoking, and even has umbrellas. How considerate!

A QUIET MEETING ROOM We have a nice comfy quiet room available for meetings, Bingo, Cards, etc, complete with bar so you don't have to travel for your tipple. Best to book it in advance.

A LAZY VIEW From the terrace you can watch the boats come and go in the inner harbour and basque in the sinking evening sun away from the holiday crowds. The ideal place for a relaxing pint!

See you there!
